Project 7

Your objective is to create a two page report on computer disc to be turned in at the completion of the chapter.

The first page of the report you should:

find a web site that gives information on prices of new and used automobiles.

make a table of values that include a specific vehicle's new price, the price of a one year old, two years old,..., nine years old.

plot the data in the table.

use your calculator's exponential regression feature to find the exponential decay formula of the vehicle.

* As usual, creativity will increase your score.

The second page should consist of a report of the steps you went through to obtain your information. Include key words you used and the web site address(es) of the price lists. Would it be appropriate to fit a line over the data you graphed? If not, explain why. If a line were required, what would its equation be? How does its fit compare to the exponential curve? Suppose you are in charge of setting the price of a new vehicle for next year's model, using the data, what price would you set? Why?

Note any difficulties you may have encountered and where errors may have occurred.

Please be sure to use good sentence structure and spelling in this report. Include a title, introduction, and conclusion.
