Your objective is to create a two page report on computer disc to be turned in at the completion of the chapter.

The first page of the report you should:

pick an Olympic event contested by both men and women.

make a table of values showing men's and women's gold medal performances over the past 10 Olympic Games.

plot both sets of data and determine a line of best fit for each.

* As usual, creativity will increase your score.

The second page should consist of a report of the steps you went through to obtain your information and the calculation of the lines of best fit. If you used the internet, include key words you used and the web site address of the information you found. In this event, which gender has made the larger improvement in athletic performance over the last 40 years? From your data, is it possible that one day the men's and women's performance in this event will be equal? If so, when will it occur? If not, explain why. Will the athletic performance in this event continue to increase or decrease at the same rate over the next 40 years? Why or why not?

Note any difficulties you may have encountered and where errors may have occurred.
