The Four Components of NextGEN Program:

1. Incoming faculty will learn to use a layered approach to bringing technology to the classroom. This will enable faculty to meet the needs of varied student learners using traditional and TEL teaching practices.

2. Incoming faculty will learn the best TEL practices in their discipline.

3. Incoming faculty will learn where they can turn in the University for resources to

• Improve their teaching i.e. the library, CTLS, DMC, Portfolio

• Support their TEL efforts i.e. WebCT, Small Grants program, Faculty Toolkit, UTTC training, DMC consultation, the U of M portal

• Get technical support services for themselves and their students e.g. Helpline.

4. Incoming faculty will learn techniques for using technology to measure teaching effectiveness and ways to teach students to evaluate materials offered online.
